Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016 DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- A local man was allegedly murdered in his apartment in Atlanta on Monday. According to the Dekalb County Medical Examiner's Officers, the victim has been identified as Alex Newton. According to family, he walked into his apartment for lunch to learn it had been burglarized and the home invader was there. The perpetrator then allegedly shot him to death before running. As shock permeates East Atlanta Village, police say they are diligently searching for a man who gunned down a resident during a burglary. Alex Newton, 30, reportedly came home Monday to Alexan EAV apartments on Metropolitan Avenue to find his door kicked in and a man inside.
